How will upgrading or downgrading my plan affect my billing charges?

We support the ability to upgrade or downgrade your subscription anytime. We use the proration method for billing. Below is an example of how proration works.

Example

Walter White signed up for a Basic plan (€99 monthly) in January.

  • Subscription Price: €99,00/month
  • First Bill Date: 1 January 2013
  • Next Bill Date: 1 February 2013
  • Current Billing Period: 1 January 2013 – 31 January 2013

Walter decided to upgrade his subscription on 15 January 2013 to a Team plan that is priced at €199,00. When he does that a new transaction is created for €51,61. How was that calculated?

We take the new subscription price of €199,00 and subtract the price associated with the old subscription (€99,00). We divide the difference by the number of days in the billing period, which is 31. We then take that amount, which is €3,225 and multiply it by the number of days left in the billing period which is 16.

Formula:(€199,00 - €99,00) * 16/31 = €51,61
