Highlighting colors any search, analysis or user defined term in a patent. The highlighting panel is displayed on the top of the patent viewer.
On the left of the highlighting panel, you see the overview of the highlighting hits separated by the different patent fields (Title, Abstract, Claims and Description). On the right, you can navigate through the search, analysis and user defined hits by clicking the left and right arrows. You can show/hide the highlighting panel by clicking on the up/down arrow.

The highlight settings let you take control of what is highlighted in the patent viewer.
Syntax
Wildcards * (zero or more characters) and ? (zero or one character) are allowed
