What does this analysis do?
Give an overview of the technologies / industries that are described in your patent pool.
How does it work?
The analysis will search for technologies listed in your patent pool. IPC Classification codes are mapped to technologies by the analysis. The technologies are clustered in groups. The clustering algorithm takes IPC codes that are very similar to each other together in order to form technological areas.
How to operate the results?
Each technology is shown in a slice and the size is determined on the number of times this technology is used in your patent pool. Click on a slice to see the specific patents.
What does it tell me?
The interpretation is very similar to the interpretation of the Code analysis (indeed, the Technology analysis is based on the same data). Thus, this analysis gives an overview of the technologies that are described and/or the applications that use the technologies.
Technology fields are defined according Schmoch's classification (WIPO, 2010) and rely on the International Patent Classification (IPC) codes contained in the patent document.
